CYCLE ROUTES ALONG THE WATERWAY OF THE BRENTA
Cycle routes along the waterway of the Brenta. Hence this day excursion is to visit some of the Venetian villas. As well as some picturesque little towns. As a result, this is a bucolic strip of land where the Venetian nobles had their summer residences. Thanks to the flat area, we find different bicycle paths. And most of all, due to the thousands of canals that we can find.
VILLA FOSCARI “LA MALCONTENTA”
This is a villa that Palladio executed for the brothers Nicolò and Alvise Foscari. And it seems about the end of the 1550s. As we can see this palladian villa rises in an isolated block with no agriculture annexes. Anyhow, the location of this masterpiece is close to the edge of the lagoon, on the banks of the river Brenta. More than a “villa-farm”, it presents itself as a villa suburbana, rapidly reached by boat from the centre of Venice.

on Saturday and Tuesday mornings from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon)
VILLA WIDMANN (VILLA SCERIMAN FOSCARI WIDMANN-REZZONICO)
The location of Villa Widmann is in the municipality of Mira along the Brenta Riviera. As a result, this palladian villa dates back to the end of the 18th century. Hence the complex consists of 3 main buildings. besides the Villa Widmann we find the Barchessa and the chapel. But one of the most important section of this villa is the huge park. In fact, it extends to the north with the greenhouse construction, embellished with some 18th century statues.

VILLA PISANI (NOW NATIONAL MUSEUM)
Villa Pisani is a huge and imposing complex built in the eighteenth century on the site of an earlier villa. As a result, the architect Girolamo Frigimelica made the original project. Seems like at his death, in 1732, the assignment of the work passed to Francesco Maria Preti. Hence he completes it in time to celebrate the nomination of Alvise Pisani as doge of Venice.
Open every day except Mondays.
Closed on 1st January, 1st May and on 25th December except on different Ministerial disposal.

Tuesday, 12th April 2016: maze closed for disinfestations of its hedges.
During the summer the opening times of the maze could change in case of hot weather.
it will be closed in case of bad weather or maintenance.
In conclusion, the cycle routes are the best way to breath the local identity.
